The Volkswagen T5 prepared by Revo sets a new record for a commercial vehicle in the return to Nürburgring: 9 minutes 57 seconds. The preparation of the Volkswagen T5 rode a 2.0 Revo Dual 220 hp turbo diesel, among other changes. To test that everything was fine, drove the 930 miles to the track, turn around as quickly as possible, and go home. No trailers, no trucks. A totally real test of the prototype. After a few laps, the final wine. And with it, the record: 9 minutes 57 seconds.

Apparently, the idea came after watching an episode of Top Gear (BTW, here are some details of the season 20 of Top Gear) in which a Ford Transit goes around the Green Hell in just 10 minutes 8 seconds. With this record in mind, the Revo guys got down to work.

We leave you with the video in which the Volkswagen T5 prepared by Revo achieved the record. If you want more details, take a look at the official website of Revo Technik. And if the Volkswagen T5 excites you, be sure to read you our report on the FurgoVolkswagen 2013.

Revo headed to Germany on a mission, a mission to break a World lap record. Our destination was the Nurburgring Nordshleife, considered to be the Holy Grail for motorsports enthusiasts across the world.
Back in 2010 Sabine Shmitz set the record for the fastest lap for a commercial vehicle around the Nurburgring in a Ford Transit van, with a respectable 10:08 'bridge to gantry' run. She did however use the slipstream of a Dodge Viper to aid her attempt by 'cleaning' the air in front of the van during the lap. This got us thinking, and a few short weeks later we'd hatched a plan.
