To satisfy an increasingly fond of eco products, giant Cadillac converted its flagship to electric.
Available from 2009 hybrid version, big American 4x4 will become politically and environmentally correct. For this, the Escalade uses a two-mode hybrid system to match his big 6.2L V8 with two electric motors. Reducing urban consumption by nearly 50% according to the manufacturer, this technology also allows the Escalade run only when the electric power demand is low. The nickel-metal hydride batteries are recharged during deceleration or constant speed, when the engine is running. In addition, the V8 is equipped with AFM (Active Fuel Management) technology that shuts down four of its eight cylinders at low speeds, just to reduce consumption.
