2013 Luxury Sport Sedan Cadillac ATS - Back in Action

Cadillac ATS
With the ATS, Cadillac returns to the family segment,
after the dismal failure of BLS
Class family has not brought luck to Cadillac. But the American brand has not resigned: she returned to the niche with the BLS, a sedan that does not lack ambition.

You do not remember the BLS? No? Rest assured, your car culture is not necessarily failing. Sold between 2006 and 2009, the cousin of the Saab 9-3 has failed miserably.
To return to the family segment, Cadillac therefore had to totally rethink its strategy. This is done with the ATS, unveiled in Detroit. Finished pulling the genes Opel too marked. This four-door is 4.64 m propulsion, like its big sister CTS. She proudly boasts a low weight to 1542 kg for the access and distribution of masses close to the 50/50 model. While four-wheel drive versions are also on the program.

The carrier does not pay too much exuberance
To compete with the Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Volvo S60, impossible to ignore the technology. Magneto rheological damping, so Corvette, 8 inch touch screen, active cruise control, collision warning and blind spot monitoring ... the list of available devices is long. However, the bonnet is silent on any diesel. In France, the supply may be limited to the same four-cylinder direct-injection 2.0 Turbo 273 hp, because the air 2.5 202 hp and 322 hp 3.6 V6 should not be imported. Add a small network, this Cadillac ATS should remain rare in our country.

With big claims and even bigger aspirations, can the ATS really hope to win over young luxury buyers from the German brands?

Topping out third gear I've got just enough time to think about grabbing fourth when the first braking marker is past my front tire and I'm pushing hard on the four piston Brembos. The lightest car in its class, it slows with ease as I downshift to second, applying prodigious amounts of throttle as I crest the right-hander. The rear steps out slightly as I continue to roll on the throttle and then it happens... stability control.
