Audi A1 e-tron - Sustainable Urban Mobility

Audi A1 e-tron

The German company is in the development of the Audi A1 e-tron. It is still unknown when it will reach the market, but Audi aims to be one of the solutions for future urban mobility with the environment respectable.

The Audi A1 e-tron starts its second phase of development so that in the near future it will be possible to see it roll down our streets.

Already in 2012 the A1 e-tron was used in a trial of electric technology. During the event, we surveyed a total of 50,000 kilometers that were used to gather information about the behavior of the load and driving, and the views of participants in both expectations and satisfaction.

Audi starts now the second phase of development in which, thanks to the experience and data acquired, it has given the Audi A1 e-tron of a 'range extender' that allows you to expand their autonomy.

The T-shaped battery A1 have a capacity of 13.3 kWh energy to ensure a range of 50 kilometers with a 220 V household outlet Furthermore, they are able to fully recharge in only three hours.

The Audi A1 e-tron has two propellers. One electric, acting on the front wheels (via a single gear ratio) with a maximum power of 115 hp and torque of 300 Nm. It allows an acceleration of 0-100 km / h in 9.8 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 130 km / h.

The second block which counts the A1 e-tron is a Wankel (rotary) on the rear. With this compact and lightweight engine gets to expand the range to 250 kilometers. It has a displacement of 350 cc and a power of 34 hp. What is curious is that this 'range extender' is not connected to any of the wheels, but acts as an autonomous generator which drives a generator to supply charge to the batteries charge.

The Ingolstadt-based company is currently involved in developing policy and electric hybrid technologies with which it wants to catch up in terms of sustainability. For this, the Audi A1 e-tron is undergoing various test projects with which the mark is intended to gather market research. Their goal: to provide information about the user behavior on electrical technology.
