Volkswagen AG - Well But Could Do Better

The German giant has just released its sales volumes for the first five months of the year.

A few days after his German cousins, Volkswagen has in turn disclose its sales figures for the first five months of the year. But this time, unlike BMW and Mercedes, the operation does not turn to the exercise of self-satisfaction.

"Overall, the evolution of the Volkswagen Group was stable. Audi, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Porsche and Seat brands have maintained their particular delivery despite the difficult conditions that persist on the markets," and said Christian Klingler, Board Member for Sales.
3.87 million sales

And Volkswagen AG has delivered 3.87 million vehicles between January and May (+5.9%). For this one last month, the firm announced 816,500 sales (6.9%). A small improvement that should not really mark the European markets in which it accuses the contrary, a slight decrease (-4.2% in Germany and 3.5% in the rest of Western Europe). Fortunately, in the last five months, North America (13%) and Asia / Pacific flying rescue group (18.2%).
Audi and Volkswagen course

"Florets" VAG Audi (640,200 sales: +6.7%) and Volkswagen Passenger Cars (2.41 million: 5.3%) derive no surprise their own in the game This is not the case Skoda cash a painful 7% since the beginning of the year (377,200 deliveries against 405,500 in the same period of 2012).

No comparison in contrast to sales of Porsche sports since the brand has joined the German group since 1 August 2012. The Stuttgart manufacturer has however passed 67,300 units between January and May.

Finally, good news for Seat. Often seen as the poor relation of the firm, the Spanish brand saw its sales jump by 11%.
